FULL

Last week was insane.

My body shouted a colorful array of profanity at me nearly every morning as I dragged myself out of the warm embrace of the down comforter (I now know why it is called a comforter, because it caresses and comforts your worn down body as sleep envelopes you). But do you know something, I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Every day was and adventure. LA, Big Bear, Vegas, Palm Springs, and the Mojave, all in a six (five) day period! I became a professional passenger riding from location to location for shoots. The team was a dream and a half! Seriously, I couldn’t have picked better people to work with. The models were fun and energetic (even on zero sleep at times. Andy, seriously you are a trooper! [a 1 a.m. hair cut for a 4:45 a.m. call time]) Neph, our photographer and creative director was a blast, his wife Becky is just the babest and was working tech (something?), Rachel wrangled everyone together, Noel is now my fashion icon and dressed everyone to the nines, Ben brought creativity, and Scott was the best producer/location scout/assistant to ever live! I have officially been spoiled and Lexus (the client) has never looked so good.

The shoot in Mojave brought old friend back into my life and I could have cried for just how excited I was to see their faces! Brett, Seth, Eric, and Derek you were all a sight for sore eyes. Even though they had a series of hiccups pulling the shoot together things worked out beautifully in the end (further proving my theory ‘It doesn’t work until it does’). I have to admit, coloring a seven year old little boys hair was a first (and hopefully a last) but it was an amazing experience none the less (I am pretty sure we opened the pandoras box of instant-self transformation for that kid, he asked his mom if she would color his hair for his birthday next year!). The conversations, laughter, and magical moments of that day will not soon be forgotten, nor will the images of all the hillbillies at the Lancaster mall! I am talking mullets, rat-tails, and helmet hair for days!

Though my body may be running on empty, my spirit is most certainly full. I certainly don’t miss waking up at ungodly hours of the day, but I would do it all again in heart beat if it meant working along side those wonderful people again.

xx
