BLAZER BRIGADE

I feel like the blazer is a universal 'go to' for all women who want to look sharp or somewhat put together in a matter of seconds. It is like magic, presto changeo you are a new woman, simply by adding a few panels of well patterned fabric to your ensemble

Don't know what to wear to the party? Throw a blazer on it! That dress feeling a little lack luster? Throw a blazer on it! Feeling like the boss isn't taking you seriously? Throw a blazer on it! (I could keep going... but for your sake, I wont)

Seriously though, the blazer has become a staple in every womans wardrobe. I would argue however, that not all blazers are equal. Fit is incredibly important, slightly less important but also crucial is the cut; if you show up wearing the wrong cut blazer your attempt to look chic and put together will turn into a full on episode of Joan Rivers tearing you limb from polyester limb on Fashion Police.

I won't lie, I too am a part of the blazer brigade. The other night we attended a charity/award event for a friend and I joined to ranks of the brigade, donning my favorite Cynthia Vincent blazer over a simple white tee and black pants (which would have otherwise felt lacking). I couldn't help myself, I love a well cut blazer with a unique lapel, I mean who doesn't!? When I was working on a music video a while back, I nearly stole ALL of the blazers from the boys in the band because they were so freaking good (and all of them were different, it was black tie gold!).

Who, What, Wear (one of my favorite fashion blogs) covered some of the best blazers of the season and how to wear them; they are well worth a peek for those of us in the ranks...

xx

p.s. HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVE YOU BABES!
