I have a (borderline unhealthy) obsession with leather jackets.
Everywhere I go, everyone I meet, I stare at the dead animals hanging from shoulders and clothing racks, determined to find the perfect hide to shroud my ashamedly bare arms. I am Eve in the garden of cool kids, suddenly aware of my 'nakedness'.
What is it about the leather jacket? Is it the 'bad boy' connotations? The casual nod to Grease (the movie, not the country). The smell, the feel, the controversy!? There is something about a good, black, leather jacket though isn't there? Something... sexy. Something confident and cool (all other leather, though lovely, is some how lesser in my book... don't get me wrong, J.Lo is a vision in camel colored leather, but it just isn't for me).
I have been hunting for the perfect leather jacket for years! It is like my black bootie dilemma all over again. It has become how I am known in some circles, "the girl in search of the perfect leather jacket". Who knows, maybe I will turn my saga into a best selling novel one day. One fraught with indecision, missed opportunity, and buyers remorse.

The question at this point is, how much does one spend on the jacket of their dreams? Do I simply give up and settle for a less expensive, good option? Or do I continue to hold out in hopes of a soft, beautiful, inky black jacket appearing before me one day on a fated shopping trip.
All I know is my patients is wearing thin. I am more desperate than a 40 year old womans child longing ovaries! (too far?)
I realize it is just a piece of clothing... but then again... it really is so much more than that.
xx
*What do we think of this jacket? Is the quilting too much? Will it go out of fashion too quickly? The biker jacket is rather timeless on it's own, but this feels a little forced perhaps? However, I must give credit where credit is due and say that All Saints does, indeed, make bangin leather wear, so maybe I should get over it and go buy a coat...
