Sifting through the monotony of email can easily become the bane of anyones existence (why do you think so many people openly admit to having messy inboxes!?). The same feeling applies to your physical mail box. Bills, advertisements, junk mail, spam, and sponsorships; line after line, letter after letter, asking things of you, taking of your time and money.
This feeling is usually only broken by job inquiries and or payment notifications (also known as checks). But what if you had something more to look forward to?
You all know how I feel about writing letters. I may not write them as often as I would like these days, but I do go on a letter writing bender ever few weeks or so (which I feel counts for something, commodity and quality ride hand in hand in this case). At any rate, sometimes I think of someone I should write to but I realize, given the current rather busy state of life, I have negative amounts of time to sit down and write them a physical letter. So what? Am I just supposed to forget about writing them all together? NO! I have decided (I'm not the best at it yet, but you know what they say, practice makes perfect) to start messaging, emailing, texting or tweeting at people when they come to my mind.
The thing is, I never expected to get the response that I have in return. People love to know they are being thought about, cared for from a distance. It is crazy. Seriously, I emailed someone a Pin I thought they may like the other day and you would have thought I sent them a bouquet of roses!
This, of course, further proves my theory that it truly is the little things in life.
Who are you thinking of? Have you told them how much they mean to you lately? 140 characters of your time is worth so much more than you know.
xx
