SNACK ATTACK

As you all know, I am (what many would call) a foodie. To me food is more than sustenance... it is an experience. I believe food has the power to bring people together, it is to be shared and celebrated. Don't you agree?

Most of us tend to focus on meals (which are indeed amazing) but you guys, what about snacks!? I love snacks! They are the bridge between meals, they keep you from getting hangery and support a healthy digestive system (or at least that is what I tell myself). Snacks are what (my) dreams are made of.

A few weeks back some dear friends of mine ventured to LA from Michigan. Upon their arrival we packed the car (to the brim) and headed to the desert for a 'bachelorette party' (mind you I use that term loosely...). We spent four days in the desert. Our 'schedule' was breakfast, lay out, snack, lay out,(snack) dinner, drinks, sleep repeat... We ate our main meals at the hotel or out at posh restaurants in Palm Springs proper (there may have been a hole in the wall Thai place in Joshua Tree), but my focus, when preparing for the trip was (of course) the snacks!

When I was thinking about what to take I realized that one of the easiest and most satisfying snack foods in the world is the tortilla chip because you can pair it with ANYTHING! It is the magical snack food. Cabo Chips was kind enough to send me to the desert with several bags of their incredible blue corn tortilla chips (with a hint of delicious lime)*. We dipped these perfect crisps in fresh salsa, covered them with hummus and, my personal favorite, paired them with guac or simply avocado sprinkled with sea salt and lime (or paprika if you are feeling twirly). I don't think it would be exaggerating to say that Cabo Chips saved our lives during our time in the desert (ok...that may be a bit much, BUT they most certainly kept us from hanger danger).

What is your favorite thing to pair with tortilla chips? Are you a traditionalist with salsa and guac? Or do you like going out of the box with mango pepper jelly and cream cheese? (yes that is a thing that you should eat at some point in your life). What ever the case may be, I hope you have snack satisfying week.

xx

*please note- while yes, they did send me the chips in hopes that I would write something I was not obligated to. However, I chose to because they are ACTUALLY that good.
