Be present. Live in the present tense... for, if you keep a certain frame of mind... the present is directly linked to the future (and the past).
For instance- there is an interesting linguistic distinction between english and chinese. We (in english) use time in a very past, present and future sort of way (has, has not, will have and so on) in chinese there is time, yes, but it is often referred to in the same frame (today it rain, tomorrow it rain, yesterday it rain... note, it is not said as 'it is raining', 'it will rain', or 'it rained') it is all one.
We live in a world that is all about 'being in the now' but we don't consider how that now affects our future. We prefer to believe that the future will take care of itself... which sound nice, but if you don't, on some level, prepare for the future what will be waiting for you when you get to the present day that is (currently) your future?
Not to sound like your dad or anything, I mean, I am 65 at heart... but ENJOY the life you are currently in, pursue your dreams, make the most of every day and every opportunity, so that when the future arrives it will be FULL and welcoming.
What 'tense' are you living in?
