More like TERRIFIC TWOS am I right!?
You guys! It is here! The Curated Life is two whole years old and I couldn't be more proud of if it, even if it had arms and legs and was toddling all over the place (ok... maybe I am MORE proud because frankly a toddling laptop conjures terrifying images of Sid Phillips and his butchered toys).
How has another year passed ALREADY?! Didn't we just turn one yesterday? I am fairly certain that the dates on a calendar, much like LA and San Francisco, are growing slightly closer together year by year (due to the shift in the faults beneath Southern California, LA and SF shift about two inches closer each year... mind blowing right? You are welcome). However, we aren't here to talk about time and tectonic plates, we are here to celebrate!
This has been a year of delving even deeper into the realities of who I am; of peeling back the layers and finding out the messy, beautiful, scary truth which lies beneath. We have struggled through hardships, redefined friendships, had breakthroughs (and breakdowns) in our (Drew and my) careers and relationships. We have laughed harder, loved deeper and have worked to truly discover what it is we WANT from life and how to get there (I say we because this journey is with Drew, he is my person, my partner in crime and I wouldn't have it any other way *SAP*).
We are learning more and more to be intentional. Looking outward, investing in the people we care about and letting go of unhealthy relationships. There has been a focus on yoga and meditation, long walks and deep, healing conversations; 'healing' of body, mind and spirit has been one of the long running themes of this year. We are on a journey towards being, as Brene Brown puts it, Wholehearted and healthy.
This year LA has become our home (like, home home... the place we want to be most), the world is our oyster as they say. We long to discover, explore, have adventures and pursue contentment all at the same time. Looking to the idea that where you are fully in spirit you will also be present in body and mind (that is to say, when we are home, we are happy to do life in LA, when we travel we are excited for the adventure).
Thank you, my dear friends, for sticking with me on this journey. When I sat down and typed the first words... the first ideas... of TCL I had no idea what I was getting myself into (or that I would become so attached). But here we are and I am pleased as punch you are still with me (incase you didn't know I just turned 90 and use phrases like 'pleased as punch' don't judge).
You are a gem and I look forward to our time together in the coming year(s). Let's just hope my ramblings don't get too farfetched before then.
Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart.
xx
