You guys all know how this year has gone. The hills and valleys are many and the landscape seems to change at an ever increasing speed. The more people I talk to, the more and more I realize that this has truly been the best/worst year.
That being said, it is really easy to get caught up in the worst. In the times where money is tight and you (we) are stressed to the max, where things are hard and it's difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel. And so today, I want to take a moment to tell you about a night that will forever hang in the 'best' hall of fame in my mind; a night worth remembering.
Drew and I have been working for the majority of the year, collaborating, creating, and conspiring, to make Anchor Paper Co. a reality. It has been a journey. Learning to work with the person you love most, finding balance and learning to communicate clearly on a professional level is a task unto itself; a learning curve we approached with accelerated force. We have crashed and burned a few times along the way, but every bump in the road, every scar, has taught us more about ourselves and each other than we ever could have dreamed.
This past week we celebrated the official launch of Anchor Paper Co. with a party at Handsome Coffee Roasters in the Arts District of LA. It was an incredible and humbling experience. Not only because our company was a reality (no longer just a dream) but because of all the people who came out to support us. Seeing all of those smiling faces that were genuinely excited for us made me realize, once again, that LA is where we are meant to be.
So although this year has been the best/worst year to date, I can not wait to see what the future will hold , because the best/best year is yet to come.
xx
