CURRENTLY

Currently, I’m watching the soft morning sun filter through the leaves outside my dining room window. Though “dining room” is used loosely here, due to the fact that the usage of our dining table is more office and desk than entertaining and actual dining. That being said however, the dark wood is lit gently by the early morning sun and the comforting glow of my laptop screen as I click endlessly away and watch the room become flooded with light as the day creeps ahead. Thinking of an office of a dear friend that I would so much rather be working in on this chilly LA morning.

Currently, I am drinking a green smoothy consisting of enormous amounts of kale and spinach. I am not nearly hard core enough to drink that concoction on its own and therefore added apple, banana, a little mango, pineapple and fresh squeezed lemon juice and water… the result though appetizing, is a rather disturbing nuclear green sludge that makes me a little nervous every time I make it. This brings me to a confession, I love juicing! There, I said it, hit me with a surfboard I am feeling far too Californian.

Currently, I am obsessed with my Vitamix! The blessed gem that churns out my juices, smoothies, raw desserts, soup after soup and so much more. It is the most magical kitchen tool that has ever come into existence… okay, maybe the stove has it beat, but only by a margin. It may sound like a jet engine and I am sure any day now I am going to get a complaint from a neighbor for the ungodly amount of noise that it makes at 7 am when I am making my first juice of the day, but it is worth it, and I highly recommend you add one to your kitchen arsenal.

Currently, I am reading Grace: A Memoir, by Grace Coddington or The Cod as she was known in her modeling years. In this book, Grace regales you with tales of youth, culture, adventure, and above all, fashion (not to mention fun facts, such as, Mike Tyson and Naomi Campbell DATED! I know, shocking). She has traversed the oceans innumerable times, fallen in love under incredible circumstances  and manages to be able to speak her mind to Anna Wintour and not be beheaded on the spot. It is truly a harrowing tale, taking place in one of the most cut throat industries the world is blessed to known.

Currently, my legs feel rather like jello due to a series of rather intense work outs, followed in close succession with an incredible (and incredibly long) hike in the brilliant mid-January sun. A friend came to visit and I wanted to show her about, so we went for a hike through the trails atGriffith Park. We managed to loose track of the time and climbed up and down and around for so long, that I fear my legs may not recover for quite some time. That being said, I love this feeling. Knowing that you have worked out hard is by far one of the most satisfying things don’t you think? Then again, maybe I’m just sick in the head and brainwashed by NTC.

Currently, I am very excited for what the future holds; I have a strange feeling about this year. When I think about it too much, it makes me feel as if the whole of the ocean is rising and churning inside me with no where to go. My heart flutters in excitement, life is happening, and I am fully ready for the journey that lies ahead.

Currently, I am typing rather gingerly due to my war torn fingers. I have been working on a series of DIY home improvement projects (don’t you worry, I am no Tim the Tool Man Taylor, I just like to re-arrange, hand-craft, and move things) and yesterday I went on a hand sewn Leather bender and didn’t wear the appropriate protective gear. My fingers now look as if a small animal tried to gnaw away at the surface and left them rather raw and mangled. I however, will not be deterred from finishing my projects. The house is looking more like a home each day and like I said, I have guests to get ready for!

What are you currently up to?

xx
