MUD

This past summer I would spend every free evening turning my living room into Martha Stuarts play ground. Crafting my life away, making all of the one of a kind pieces for our wedding. Hours were spent tearing and cutting fabric with How I Met Your Mother playing in the background (a show that before the summer I had zero interest in, and I have now seen every season on Netflix). However, when I would have friends over to help me, we would go the movie rout or look for a show a little more story lead… this is how I stumbled upon Revenge.

Teresa and I had a night planned to organize the ever growing chaos in my life. We ordered Caribbean food, opened a bottle of wine, made pages of lists with arrows and notes filling the margins. After the list making we wanted to detox with a good show (I realize how lame that sounds but I won’t apologize for it, my brian was a stress ball and Teresa has two toddlers, it was necessary . I had heard Revenge was good from several friends and clients so I thought we would give it a go because, frankly, Hulu was fresh out of anything good to watch.

We were hooked. The drama and intrigue, the plot thickening with every passing moment, how could you not be?

Fast forward to Christmas time. Teresa has her sister-in-laws all addicted to the show and the entire week we were living in her home became on long Revenge marathon! It was amazing.

Hannah, one of the in-laws, just so happens to live near me in Los Angeles. Every wednesday night we like to combine our love of food and Revenge into a little ladies night. Great right?

We both have a lot of food limitations and are rather health concsious people (we say that but if either of us could eat a brownie hot fudge sunday we would… in a heart beat!), which makes dinner or snack options a little more limiting. We like to view it as a challange and have come up with some really fantastic combinations. One of my favorites Hannah came up with (seriously I could eat it by the spoon full). A sugar free, low calorie, chocolate, peanut butter concoction that is light and silky and divine!

 What you will need:

2-3 TBSP PB2 (pb2 is a low calorie, powdered peanut butter, if you don’t have any you can sub normal peanut butter)

2 TBSP Unsweetened Dark Chocolate Cocoa Powder

1 tsp Agave (Stevia can be used instead)

1 TBSP Raw Peanut butter

Add Water or Non-dairy Milk of choice (I used unsweetened almond milk) until creamy, a little at a time, roughly a 1/4 cup of liquid

Mix all ingredients in a medium sized bowl until smooth… seriously it’s that easy. Add the liquid slowly and stir throughly, making sure you achieve a good consistency.

This snack is a healthier version of a guilty pleasure so what’s not to love. Dip, spread, smear, nosh, enjoy!

PB2 is now a current favorite in my book, so keep your eyes peeled, I will be using it a lot more in the future. As for Revenge I am a hopeless cause, though I couldn’t have asked for a better partners in crime to have as co-addict (both in LA and back in Michigan).

Hannah, my hat is off to you for the invention of Mud and for catching up on Revenge so quickly. My diet and mental state salute you.

xx
