There is a fine line between confidence and cockiness.
It is how you carry yourself, how you behave, sure, but above all I feel it comes down to how you treat those around you.
Respect. Consideration. These are things easily forgotten when pushing to become the version of ourselves which we have so carefully crafted in our minds. Getting to the top, being seen as successful, powerful, 'in charge'; being the person people ask permission from...
There is a hunger, a craving, which gone unchecked can run us into the ground emotionally and relationally. Hunger (in our careers and life pursuits) is a good thing. It drives us to become a better version of ourselves, pushes us to do more, to reach for our dreams. BUT when we are willing to sacrifice everything (friendships, health, social life, integrity) we forget the pureness of our desires and we turn from a beautiful, confident peacock into a vile vulture waiting for its prey.
How do you carry yourself? How do you treat those around you? (this goes for home, office, studio, the subway, the street... where ever you find yourself) Use your people skills, treat others how you would like to be treated (life lessons we learned in pre-school), you will be amazed at how far confidence and positivity can take you**.
